Spring is loitering round the corner, waiting for winter to stop threatening us, which means time for some new menus. Get stuck into these offerings around town.
Catalunya serves Catalan-style food and specialises in Spanish gastronomy as well as sophisticated cocktails. Enjoy one of the snazzy cocktails between Monday to Friday from 6pm onwards and chow down a complimentary bar snack such as the innovative paella crunch – a cracker like concoction topped with prawns and aioli. Also, they serve ham and cheese truffle bikinis, so, ’nuff said.

Craft Brew & Co
Okay, this isn’t strictly a new menu but Craft Brew & Co has launched its third outpost in Kennedy Town and houses 15 beer taps and a large selection of guest brews. The range of mouth watering craft beer snacks include duck fat fries, burgers and hand crafted sausages, making for a great ballast when sampling the extensive draft and bottle selection. Beer and burgers – the answer is always yes.

Until 31 March, Cucina’s Italian Chef Andrea Delzanno is serving six dishes centred around the Roman artichoke. Dishes include a raw artichoke salad with seared scampi tails, as well chitarra spaghetti with fresh Tuscan sausage and artichoke or fillet of red snapper with artichoke, lemon, tomato and mushroom. Get acquainted with this seasonal ingredient with sweeping views of Victoria Harbour as the backdrop.

Lily & Bloom
Lily & Bloom has had something of a revamp recently and a whole host of different nights to go with it. Head over on a Tuesday evening for unlimited freshly shucked oysters, prawn cocktail, mussels and a choice of main course for $490. The Sunday Funday event is a must for film buffs and seafood lovers alike. Enjoy a range of fresh lobster dishes such as lobster thermidor whilst watching classics such as The Godfather. Satay Inn has a new makeover on its design and menu and brings a touch of Southeast Asia to Hong Kong. The new menu boasts a wider selection of Singapore’s multi-ethnic cuisine, featuring eight new dishes from Singaporean chef, Kelvin Wong. Highlights include cereal butter prawns, assam fish head, wok-fried sole fillets with okra and sambal and garoupa fillets with bean curd.

Despite its contemporary design, Viet Kitchen is an intimate space that offers a selection of classic pho, as well as unique cocktails inspired by the flavours of Vietnam. New spring menu items include the spicy betel leaf beef roll and Da Lat style yellow coconut chicken curry. Finish with the banana chocolate spring roll (say what?!) and wash it down with a sriracha bloody Mary.

Zafran is part tapas restaurant, part drinking haven and part low-key nightclub spot all in one. Welcoming a new chef, Pere Moreno from Barcelona, the new menu of 30 dishes features contemporary signatures. Tuck into delights such as black paella with squid-ink rice, baby squid, Catalan saffron and garlic aioli, red prawn tartare with avocado, tomato brunaise and sea asparagus and smoked grilled octopus served on bed of chickpea hummus.
