ART CENTRAL 2018: art, talks, and plenty of good food

Art Central is back this 27 March to 1 April with its signature slew of cultural goings-on – art, talks, workshops, and of course, food. Over at Central Harbourfront during the long Easter weekend, the fair’s open-air pavilion will be home to some of the city’s participating restaurants, ready to serve hungry fairgoers between rounds of art gazing.

Here are the ones we’re eyeing – on top of the art, of course:

Bread & Beast and their new Kimoji Ciabatta
, featuring the goodness of 24-hour pulled smoked brisket along with melted Swiss, kimchi, and lemon aioli – can’t wait to try this one. One of our favourite burger joints, Beef & Liberty will also be there to serve their signature cheeseburger as well as The Notorious P.I.G.

We recently included them in our fried chicken bites video, so we’re excited Co Thanh is making an appearance with roast chicken on sticky rice.

The new rotisserie on the block, Little Birdy, will also be serving their Australian free-range roast chicken – with a salad or in a chicken roll, among other items. Tacos will be on offer by way of Limewood, featuring pulled pork with fresh green herbs and calamansi crema.

There will also be crepes – of both sweet and savoury kinds, by L’Ami Café. Other snacks we’re curious to try is the 852 HK Milk Tea Lava Croissant by Chef Tiff’s Kitchen, and Fat Legs’ Sai Oua – grilled Northern Thai sausages served with dried chillies, kaffir lime leaves and naam phrik num, a green chilli relish.

Let’s not forget Le Marché by lauded chef Philippe Orrico – of ON Dining and Upper Modern Bistro – a pop-up serving up European favourites, including a salad of smoked duck, grapes and walnuts for something light, or the Teriyaki beef short rib for a fuller option.

Now we’ll be there for the art, we promise – it just helps to appreciate them on a full stomach, that’s all.
