Burger know-it-all: Singaporean Chilli Crab Burger
A crab in a burger, or a burger in a crab. We just tried the Singaporean chili crab burger, a seasonal new contender of The Butcher’s Club Burgers' menu. The burger’s got serious “Cloudy With a Chance of Meatball 2” vibes. You know, if you’ve watched the movie, there’s that spider burger with the trillion sesame seed eyes (note: this burger doesn’t have eyes!).
The soft shell crab was perfectly placed on top of the bun with some of its feet protruding out of the bun. As we took a bite it was a mouthful but the flavors were very soft, but that did make us want to take one more bite (more like 20 more bites). The crab was amazingly delicious, but I think the real winner was the batter which had notes of garlic and pepper in it. We could seriously just eat the batter if we had the choice. Although, something that would have made the burger even better would be if it had a bit of the ‘fishier’ flavor of the Singaporean chili crab sauce infused in the sauce.
The fries and the extra Singaporean sauce were great additions to the burger-- we engulfed those in a matter of seconds.
