The Pawn by Tom Aikens

Housed inside one of the few heritage buildings in Wan Chai, The Pawn by Tom Aikens does some of the best fish and chips in town. The perfectly crisp batter and golden brown chips are enough to make any homesick Brit weep. More adventurous and fresh dishes include cold angel hair pasta and salmon carpaccio with okra and caviar.

WOM recommends: Braised short rib on the bone with miso, marmite, melting marrow and crispy shallot, beef burger 'extraordinaire' with smoked cheddar, double onion and plum jam.
