Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, or they say, according to these restaurants, you could have some hotpot and become a bijin (beautiful person in Japanese). Your favorite winter meal holds the answer to having clear and youthful skin. The beauty and food worlds are colliding through a dish called the “beauty pot”. Most of these so-called “beauty pot” has a fish, chicken or beef broth base, chock full of collagen. Collagen plays a vital role in the making of connective tissues and skin, and while it's not completely proven whether ingesting collagen will help in producing more of it on your skin, many people are swearing by it. In simpler words, this broth can apparently help your skin look brighter, clearer and younger.
Here are a few hotpot hot spots (hehe) in Hong Kong to get your skin glowing.
Tsukado Nojo opened its first branch in Hong Kong and has become very famous for its signature Bijin Nabe, a thick golden collagen-rich chicken stock loved by everyone. The Fish Maw and Chicken with Chinese Medicine at the Drunken Pot is a really good base for your stomach and your skin. Any type of meat, especially chicken, has a lot of collagen naturally in it. Obihiro Hageten’s have very recently released new hotpot dishes for the cold. Two dishes we want to talk about are the Wagyu Soy Milk with Collagen Hotpot and the Chicken Soy Milk with Collagen Hotpot. Both the dishes have a collagen-rich soy milk base, but besides from that, the Wagyu broth hotpot has a chicken paitan broth paired with A4 wagyu beef from Japan, alongside an assortment of vegetables, mushrooms, bamboo shoots, and leeks. Ramen is added at the end of the meal to absorb the broth, allowing diners to savor the creaminess of the soup up to the last drop. The chicken broth hotpot pairs the milk with Japanese chicken thighs for a wholesome dish rich in chicken flavor.
