JoJo Indian Cuisine: Spicing up HK's Brunch Scene
This Wan Chai stalwart, open until 4am on the weekends, isn’t usually the first place that springs to mind when we think of Sunday brunch. Yet, here it is, JoJo’s weekend brunch menu.
We’re usually a little wary of buffets, too often the food just isn’t as good as what you find on the a la carte menu. The Jo Jo brunch avoids this pitfall by offering, alongside a buffet selection, a live chaat counter and keema pao counter. It’s something a little different from what is served in most Indian restaurants, and a taste of authentic popular Indian street food.
The keema pao is superb, generous portions of minced lamb served in soft bread rolls, worth the visit on their own. From the chaat counter; the puri are a highlight; little orbs of dough with a choice of spicy fillings.
You can fill your boots for HK$168 + 10%, including one drink. It’s good value and the service is always on point. It’s a change from our usual brunch hangouts, but that’s what makes it worth the trip.
