Can't decide between pizza or a curry... here's the solution
To conclude our Hong Kong Sevens weekend, we headed to Queen Street Cooked Food Centre in Sheung Wan to check out the recently opened Queen’s Pizza & Kebabs, because that’s exactly what you need after a heavy weekend.
It’s the latest venture by the owner of Chautari, one of our absolute favourite Indian restaurants in town. Seriously, if you haven’t tried Chautari’s deep-fried cauliflower, you owe it to yourself. Both restaurants are in the same cooked food centre, so the beauty of the setup is that two perfect comfort foods can be enjoyed in unison. We took full advantage of this by getting some of the aforementioned cauliflower as a starter before delving into the pizza menu. We opted for a buffalo mozzarella pizza and the Mediterranean spiced lamb. Both were extremely generous in the cheese department, the base was perfectly cooked and these things were BIG.
Chautari’s tandoori chicken is a treat, and now it’s available as a pizza topping. We fully intend to give it a go on our next visit. Queen’s lacks the artisanal hipster quality Alvy’s in Kennedy Town of the wood-fired oven authenticity of Motorino, but for service, friendliness and fun times, this place is hard to beat.
