Teppanyaki is always a joy - nothing beats watching an expert chef create beautiful dishes right before your eyes. So we were eager to check out, Ukiyo, Causeway Bay’s newest teppanyaki.

The lunch menu is firmly in the once-in-a-while-treat price range. Definitely a place to bring someone you’re trying to impress. We went all in and chose the lobster from the a-la-carte menu. Just look how pretty this thing is:

But hey, it takes more than pretty presentation to impress WOM Guide - taste is everything. And this lobster hit the spot taste-wise, we could eat this all day.

We sampled the set lunch too. Ukiyo’s dry-aged ribeye is the standout dish here. We love garlic chips, we love wasabi, but really, this was a piece of beef that needs no embellishment - as tender as it comes!

The beef is dry-aged on-site in the restauarant's own ageing locker. So the chef knows how long the meat has been aged down to the day. It's this kind of attention to detail that we appreciate. Ukiyo's set lunches range in price from $250 to $520. But we think, for the quality of the food, that's a pretty fair price.
