Green Is The New Black

Green Is The New Black, organisers of the Singapore-based Conscious Festival on mindful and sustainable living, is launching its first Hong Kong festival this 20-22 April.

Taking place at PMQ, The Conscious Festival is gathering like-minded folk looking to learn and exchange ideas on mindful living, environmental responsibility and sustainability – and have fun while doing so. Talks, panels, and workshops will coincide with performances by Asian artists, while The Marketplace will present more than 70 brands showcasing mindfully made products in fashion, beauty and lifestyle. Conscious foodies will also appreciate the presence of Mana!, Habitu, La Cabane, The Artist, Epicurio, Bottlesxo, and Gosnells.

“We are thrilled to be bringing our Conscious Festival to Hong Kong,” says Stephanie Dickson, founder of Green Is The New Black. “We want people to leave with tangible actions they can do on a daily basis, and show that sustainability is accessible in Hong Kong.”

“Hong Kong is our first chapter outside of Singapore and we wanted to do something unique, which is why we are launching our very first industry day – the Unconference,” says co-founder Paula Miquelis. “Our goal is to make Hong Kong the forefront of conversations around sustainable business, by creating a platform to share thought leadership, success and solutions to challenges.”

Unconference takes place on day one, with two sessions of panels, keynotes and group sharing driving conversations around the theme ‘Making Business Circular’, exploring circularity in business and making the model sustainable and mainstream. The day is divided by a networking lunch, and ends with Film Screenings, another new festival component making its debut in the city.

The following two days will focus on The Talks, revolving around four key themes: mind, earth, consumption and conscious parenting.

Members of the pubic are free to enter the festival, while talks, screenings and Unconference require tickets for entry. For more on the speakers and the festival’s agenda, check out The Conscious Festival website.
