Nothing else hits the spot the way comfort food does, are we right? But oftentimes our favourite comfort food has not been the healthiest (we see you, four-cheese pizza!). With the growing population of health-conscious consumers, there has been a continuous increase in the demand for holistic nutrition. Fortunately, eating healthy no longer means depriving yourselves of your favourite foods. Redefining the bento food scene, eco-conscious The Big Things Kitchen has just launched The Big Things Bento. Dubbing itself as “a new vibe to eating right”, these bentos are all about getting as much nutrition as possible into every bite with flavours that pack a punch.

Healthy Bentos are The Biggest mood

Advocating for the concept of #DontEatNothing which focuses on nutrition and maintaining a well-balanced diet, The Big Things Bento is perfect for folks living in the hustle and bustle of Hong Kong who can’t afford the time to cook or kitchen prep. Carefully crafted by The Big Things Kitchen’s Japanese chef Naoko Minagi and Culinary Director Christian Yang, this range of nutrient-dense Bentos are made with only home-grown and local produce, sustainably-sourced proteins, whole grains and more. Celebrating classic and well-loved Asian flavours and Western gastronomic culinary techniques, these ready-to-eat meals are enough to deliver a unique dining experience altogether.

The Big Things Kitchen Energy

Following the concept of eating the rainbow, the signature energy-boosting Bentos are carefully crafted with top-grade ingredients packed full of macronutrients (quality proteins, complex carbohydrates and healthy fats) to micronutrients (vitamins and minerals).

And in this day and age where there is an ever-increasing demand for holistic nutrition, a wide array of functional bentos for fitness or detox purposes are also available to suit the needs of each health-conscious consumer. Staying true to The Big Things founder Selina Kong’s mantra, it’s important to understand nutrition and its impacts which results in a healthier relationship with food for the mind, body and soul.

Fun fact: A secret sauce is made in-house for each of their signature Bentos.

Going Big for Mother Earth

Doing their part for the planet, The Big Things Bento has partnered with sustainable suppliers such as U.S. grass-fed beef, sustainable Norwegian salmon, Danish hormone-free and antibiotic-free chicken to provide quality meals without being at the expense of the environment.

In addition to working with local farmers in Hong Kong, The Big Things Kitchen also practices a fresh-to-table concept straight out of their organic rooftop farm - a great step in the ‘green’ direction. And to take things full circle, each bento comes neatly wrapped in biodegradable packaging for takeaway meals.
