Le Cordon Bleu Hong Kong: K11 Musea partners with prestigious French culinary school
09 Oct 2019
News just in: K11 Musea has announced a three-year partnership with prestigious French culinary school Le Cordon Bleu. This is the first time the Institution will offer classes in Hong Kong, with a series of exclusive, tailor-made courses to be hosted by Le Cordon Bleu master chefs starting on Saturday 2 November at A. Gastronomy Lab, K11 Musea’s dedicated (and state-of-the-art) test kitchen.
Le Cordon Bleu’s Hong Kong outpost offers classes for all ages and experience levels.
Founded in 1895, Le Cordon Bleu counts among its alumni culinary luminaries including Gastón Acurio, Janice Wong, Yotam Ottolenghi, Virgilio Martínez, Garima Arora, and Hong Kong’s own Vicky Lau.
Le Cordon Bleu Hong Kong – the institution’s first ‘travelling school’ and its first partnership with a non-government affiliate – will offer a wide range of classes to suit all ages and levels of experience, including half-day sessions and intensive three or five-day short courses. Class sizes will be kept small, with each course allowing between eight and sixteen people. Family classes will also be available, welcoming parents and budding young masterchefs.
Le Cordon Bleu will offer classes for all ages and experience levels.
The courses themselves will focus on baking, patisserie techniques, general culinary skills and dessert-making, and participants will try their hand at dishes such as dacquoise apple hazelnuts, opera matcha, strawberry chocolate cake and more.
Le Cordon Bleu's Hong Kong classes take place at K11 Musea's state-of-the-art test kitchen.
Classes will be led by Le Cordon Bleu master chefs including Pastry Director Olivier Paredes, winner of the prestigious Louis Berger Trophy (Sugar Art category), Technical Director Phillippe Clergue, finalist in the Un des Meilleurs de France 2011, and veteran baker Regis Fevrier.
Price wise, half-day classes start at HK$2,760, while the intensive courses start at HK$13,000 (with discounted rates for Klub 11 members). Budding chefs can apply and find out more about the courses at the K11 website.
