20 Nov 2018
December's going to be a busy month for all of you. With family and friends in town, you're going to need this list.
You probably noticed that long line in Wan Chai, and those bright red and white lights. Five Guys just opened their first branch in Hong Kong and the burgers and fries are seriously delicious. Two no-preservatives no filler beef patties with cheese sandwiched between them, the burgers are an all-American deal. They have Cheeseburger, Bacon burger, and the OG hamburger. They have two kinds of fluffy fries made in the FIVE GUYS STYLE or CAJUN STYLE made with starchy dutch potatoes which are cooked in peanut oil. If you are looking for a fast food burger joint to make your go-to we think this is sure to be a good one. 60 Johnston Road, Shop No. 1B, G/F - J Residence, Wan Chai; 3618 9122; fiveguys.com.hk

With the best live music ranging from Funk, Jazz, Pop, and R&B this is sure to be a music lover’s favorite spot. This late-night lounge/ club brings soul, taste, and passion to the dance floor and tables alike, a perfect place for music-loving friends after a week of stressful work to relax with a delicious Dagaze South Side, Immenthemum Martini, or a delicious Mescaloma, made with mezcal, ancho reyes, lime juice, and apple soda. With bands like Fidela with A.R.T and Mudita Funk playing at the stop, you are bound to get your groove on. G/F. 24- 30 Ice House Street, Central, Hong Kong; 2810 9902; facebook.com/mudita.hkg
The Modern Vietnamese Diner has officially launched and is poised to revolutionize traditional Vietnamese cuisine. Dishes such as the Madam Saigon Deep Fried Spring Rolls, Steamed rick Flan with Minced Pork and Deep Fried Garlic, Seafood Vermicelliin Tomato Crab Soup and so many more are bound to make our mouths water already and we can’t wait to taste how they taste with a modern twist to them as expected by the restaurant. What we are particularly excited for are the rare Vietnamese cocktails such as Miss Guava, The Royal Gold and Mango Hearts! These names sure sound deliciously interesting. Shop B131, B1/F, Mira Place 1, 132 Nathan Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon; 2808 4777; facebook.com/madamsaigonhk
HOMESLICE is the new up and coming Neapolitan pizza restaurant and bar. Fermented Neapolitan sourdough pizzas boasting billowy crusts and impossibly gooey centers topped with Italian favorites like gorgonzola dolce, taleggio, and mozzarella, as well as unexpected premium ingredients like the French abate fetel pear is what you can find at this new restaurant. They have the ever loved classics like homemade Burrata with figs, olives and rucola feature alongside Padron Peppers and more alongside delicious drinks like Fernet-Branca and Amaro Montenegro. A special thing we are quite excited for is that they will be started cocktails on tap like the house Black Coffee Expresso Martini. Shop 3, 321 Des Voeux Road West, Sai Ying Pun; 3619 4026; www.homeslice.com.hk
Don’t go by the name because we can bet that this restaurant will be anything but terrible. Terrible Baby is a unique bar and performance space. This bar is set to take the cocktail culture to a new level with its innovative libations like the tongue-in-cheek Terrible Mary, a tasky smoky drink with pink peppercorn vodka. A signature called This Guy is a nostalgic drink which will evoke childhood memories through Fruit Loops-infused vodka, banana liquor, and cinnamon cocchi Americano bianco. The guests can enjoy both local and international love performance acts while sipping on our delicious cocktails. 4/F, Eaton HK, 380 Nathan Road, Kowloon, Hong Kong; 2710 1866; facebook.com/terriblebabyhk
Hotal Colombo is built on the memories of the chefs and on the heritage of Sri Lanka. Their food is inspired by the local delicacies of Colombo found on the streetside eateries. Their name is derived from the canteens in the country which are given palatial names and are called Hotels, or by their phonetic spelling Hotals, despite not offering any rooms for boarding. This restaurant is sure the be something to look out for as it will take its guests deeper into Sri Lanka. There isn’t a lot of information about the location at the moment but we are sure to be there at the opening of this new restaurant.
