Just in: Cinnabon is coming to Hong Kong in February
27 Dec 2019
News just in that has well and truly awoken us from our in-between-Christmas-and-NYE-and-what-day-is-it-again slump: US bakery chain Cinnabon will open in Hong Kong next February.
We can smell it already.
For the uninitiated, Cinnabon is an iconic bakery chain founded in Seattle that specialises in fresh and deliciously sticky cinnamon rolls, as well as other baked goods like ther Cocobon and Caramel Pecanbon. Your new favourite hangover spot will open in Olympic City, Tai Kok Tsui, just after Chinese New Year.
The news comes hot off the heels of the announcement of Cinnabon's first stores in Australia, while it's already got a stronghold in South Korea and Japan. Let's just hope that Cinnabon Hong Kong doesn't go the way of Krispy Kreme, which, more than 10 years since closing, still leaves a large donut-shaped hole in our hearts.
The Salted Caramelbon is, in so many ways, what dreams are made of.
Either way, it looks like Hong Kong's carb game is going to the next level in 2020, with the recent announcement of the long-awaited news of master baker (and inventor of the cronut) Dominique Ansel's first foray into the city with the opening of a Harbour City site next month.
