7 green juices to boost your energy during the hot HK summer
Date Published : 25 Aug 2017

Put that coffee down, and take a swig of some these green juice choices instead.
Why did we choose green? The green in all the delicious fruits and vegetables we eat (chlorophyll) helps oxygenate our blood, therefore giving us the boost of energy we need without consuming any caffeine.
Also, there’s something to be said about drinking green things when it’s ridiculously hot outside. It’s just nice, and we deserve nice things.
Green Bae @Juju’s
Green green green, it gives you energy but it's the pineapples in Juju’s Green Bae that brings the summer. Hong Kong’s summer is especially tiring with the humidity and the heat that accompanies a blistering concrete jungle. Pineapples with its cooling and soothing properties as well as it coming jam-packed with vitamin C makes them the perfect summer cooler. Juju’s Green Bae comes with pineapples, oranges, spinach, romaine and kale. So they don’t name their juices in HYAKU. The ingredients are the names and this perhaps fits their minimalist image. For those who prefer their juice sweeter and fruitier, this is your answer. Honeydew, green apple and lime those are the exact ingredients that go into the juice, nothing else. No preservatives, no extra water, no heat-treatments, nothing but green goodness. 3591 9588;
Dr Detox Cleansing Juice @Bless
This one sounds more like a doctor’s prescription rather than a juice. But that’s probably because Bless’ green juice is just what the doctor ordered: green apple, spinach, cucumber and parsley. Ther little green potion focuses on detoxifying, cleansing and nourishing. A swig of that and you’re set for the rest of the day. Shop C01aa, 1/F, LAB Concept, Queensway Plaza, 93 Queensway, Admiralty, 2877 2516;
Spring Clean @nood
This one’s stocked with tons of iron to keep you going throughout the day. Broccoli, celery, cucumber, lemon, parsley, spinach and a touch of pink Himalayan salt, nood’s Spring Clean is super low-calorie with super high-vitamin intake. Their new melon mojito is also an amazing choice for those who prefer sweeter alternatives. 2/F, Kinwick Centre, 32 Hollywood Rd, Central, 8199 8189;
Hawaii H20 @Genie Juicery

HEHE @Call me juice
Green juices don’t all have to have kale or spinach. Kiwis and guavas are packed with vitamin C and chlorophyll and many other amazing nutrients.  Call me Juice is a new juice spot in Wanchai that uses less-common cold-pressed fruit juices (we’re talking guava, dragon fruit and watermelon) in their creations. Their signature green juice HEHE is a mix of guava and kiwi juice. Take one of these on-the-go and those hot and crowded Wanchai crossroads won’t feel too impossible anymore. Shop 8B, G/F, 156-164 Queen’s Rd E, Wan Chai, 6598 5112;

GUAVA @Beauty & Juice
This one's a seasonal green from Beauty & Juice. Their new cold-pressed GUAVA comes with guava, organic wheat grass powder, cabbage, apple and lemon. Sweet and rich in vitamins, Beauty & Juice's new seasonal addition is a must-try for fans of their many organic wheat grass drinks. Shop G60, E Plaza, 7 Shing Yip St, Kwun Tong, 5202 8803;
