Where to find Diwali sweets in Hong Kong
Date Published : 12 Oct 2017

Autumn marks the celebration of many festivals in Asia, and in India, Diwali is one of the most important affairs of the season. While this festival of lights, firecrackers and gifts is meant to honour the victory of good over evil in the world, it also gives us a really good excuse to devour a delicious array of Indian sweets and snacks. Don’t fret– you don’t have to go all the way to India to enjoy these sweet treats. Keep reading to find out where you can find Diwali goodies right here in Hong Kong.

One of the best Indian restaurants in Hong Kong (and a WOM personal fav), the word Jashan literally translates to “celebration”. Designed with a festive theme, this restaurant has intricate chandeliers and colonial themed golden decor, making it the perfect place to celebrate Diwali. Enjoy a wide range of traditional Indian dishes, with signatures such as Chicken Tikka and Chicken Masala, and delectable vegetarian options including Baghare Baingan and Punjabi Choley. Apart from the desserts on Jashan’s a la carte menu, they will also be serving special Diwali treats including motichoor laddoos, kaju katli, coconut roll, pedhas and an impressive barfi platter. Our English Editor Angie tasted the barfi platter and cannot get enough of the anjir barfi! 1st Floor, Amber Lodge, 23 Hollywood Road, Central, Hong Kong, 3105 5300,
